Kabrita Goat Milk Toddler Formula

KABRITA formula has not been exposed to antibiotics, hormones or pesticides. KABRITA formula is produced in Europe where strict regulations and good manufacturing practices govern the use of antibiotics, hormones and pesticides.

The FDA’s Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA) requires that a food that contains an ingredient or protein from a “major food allergen ” be declared on the label.

We add the statement “Allergen information: Milk” on KABRITA goat milk formula for a few reasons:

First, the lactose in KABRITA Goat Milk Formula comes from cow milk and may contain trace amount of protein. Lactose is a milk sugar and molecularly identical to lactose from any source (cow, goat or human), but there is limited supply of goat milk lactose available, which restricts us from using this as an ingredient in our formula.

Second, we produce our products in a facility that also produces cow milk products. Though the chance that the product may have come in contact with cow milk ingredients anywhere in the manufacturing process is remote, we protect our consumers from a possible allergic reaction by including this statement on our label.

And third, KABRITA products are not appropriate for children with a confirmed cow milk protein allergy (CMPA), as goat milk protein may also provoke an allergic reaction in children with CMPA. If you are unsure whether your child’s symptoms stem from sensitivity or allergy, please consult with your healthcare provider.

You can learn more on our blog.

KABRITA formula is not currently USDA organic. Non-GMO KABRITA formula is produced in Europe where strict regulations already limit the use of antibiotics, hormones and pesticides, and govern animal welfare. Due to the already high standards in Europe, there is little need and therefore availability of organic goat milk.

You can learn more on our blogs about our farm and non-GMO labeling.

Yes, KABRITA Goat Milk Toddler Formula is pasteurized.

The trial for KABRITA infant formula is currently in progress.

Like most toddler formulas, our Toddler Formula is fortified with higher levels of calcium and phosphorus than standard infant formula.

All babies are unique and there are many factors that can influence the nutritional choices that are right for them. Pre-term or low birth weight babies in particular may require specialty formula.

We encourage parents to consult with a healthcare professional before making a feeding change.

For toddlers (12-24 months): We generally suggest two to four 4oz servings per day. The serving size and quantity depends upon the nutritional requirement of your child, based on age and stage. Please consult with your health care provider to determine optimal nutritional requirements for your child. Detailed Nutrition Information can be found on our website.

We have initiated the transition project and are working with our supplier to make this a reality as soon as possible. Once this project is completed we will update our website to reflect the change. Kabrita is dedicated to transparency about our products and our commitment to continuous improvement. All our ingredients are carefully considered for their nutritional value and source and are reviewed on an ongoing basis. We appreciate your concern as it is people like you who help us make these improvements a reality.

Hexane is used to extract many oils, including DHA. While it is used in the initial extraction process, the solvent evaporates in the subsequent refining process, which is safe and environmentally friendly. The FDA imposes a residue limit of less than 0.3 parts per million and upon testing no detectable residue of hexane remains in the finished DHA oil ingredient.  You are welcome to visit our blog on DHA & ARA for more information.

Life’s DHA does not contain bleach. “Bleaching” refers to the process that uses either absorbent clay or activated carbon to remove colour pigments and oxidation products from the ingredient. Color pigments are removed so that the oil is clear, rather than cloudy; oxidization products are removed to prevent the oil from going rancid. The clay or carbon used to do this is then removed by filtration.

Pura Kiki Bottles and Accessories

The paint we use has been tested and certified to not have any detectable amount of lead, Bisphenol-A (BPA), cadmium, nickel, copper, antimony, cobalt, aluminum, or phthalates. The paint is also water based and free of polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

All parts of the Kiki bottle are dishwasher-safe on the top rack. When hand washing, use a mild soap and avoid antibacterial soaps and harsh cleaners. Spouts will last longer when washed gently by hand. Please wash and sterilize all components before first use.

Simply hold a full bottle under a faucet running with hot water and the liquid inside will heat up in 15 to 30 seconds. To ensure your little one’s safety, never put liquids hotter than 99° F/37°C in the bottle and always test on the back of your hand before feeding. If you use an electric bottle warmer, please follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Kiki bottles aren’t insulated for a few reasons. First of all, it’s safer – if a bottle is too hot to touch, it’s definitely too hot for your little one to drink from. Second, it makes heating a breeze – all you need to do is run the bottle under the hot water tap for 15-30 seconds. Insulation also adds cost to the product and prevents accurate volume measurement.

We believe it is the safest material for your little one to drink from. Even BPA-free plastic bottles leach petroleum by-products and other chemical components of plastic when heated, scuffed or scratched. And while glass bottles are free of petroleum by-products, the plastic nipple collar used in such bottles isn’t. Aluminum bottles aren’t really much better than plastic bottles because they are coated with an epoxy-based oven enamel that can leach BPA or other by-products.

Stainless steel, on the other hand, is an inert non-leaching material that has been used in food preparation and milk pasteurization for years. They are 100% BPA free.

Pura Kiki Bottles and Accessories - Sleeves

The sleeve is intended to be semi-permanent and only needs to be taken off your bottle once per week. Once on your bottle, you may wash your sleeve and bottle together on the top shelf of the dishwasher or by hand.

At the sink, spread a pea-sized drop of liquid dish soap inside the sleeve then slide sleeve onto the bottle. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and dry. If you are not near a sink a small drop of no-rinse hand sanitizer may be applied inside the sleeve before it is slid onto the bottle. Wipe off any excess liquid. Alternatively, you can coat the inner surface of the dry sleeve with baking soda and slide onto the bottle. Be sure to remove the sleeve one time per week to clean between the sleeve and bottle. To remove the sleeve, use warm soapy water. Never pull on the holes in the sleeve to put on or take off or they could tear.

Pura Kiki Bottles and Accessories - Spouts

A worn or torn spout will cause leaking. If your child chews their silicone sip spout the opening will expand and the spout can leak from the opening. We recommend nipples be replaced every 6-8 weeks or earlier if there is excessive wear or tears.

Kiki XL Sipper Spouts are made of silicone, which can get cloudy or less clear with use. This does not mean the component is not clean. This is just a characteristic of silicone. That said, it is important to throw spouts away every 3 months, or sooner if they are worn, torn, or damaged in any way.

Sadly, no. But Kiki XL Sipper Spouts will work with all beverages, including thin smoothies and other non-chunky blended drinks.

Pura Kiki XL Sipper Spouts should be replaced after 2-3 months of use, or sooner if they are worn or damaged.

All Pura silicone components may be washed on the top rack of your dishwasher.
