Why Goat Milk Formula? Weaning Alternatives.

For children avoiding cow milk, Goat Milk Formula is an excellent option when it comes time to wean – it’s naturally easy to digest and contains all the vitamins and minerals growing toddlers need.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends transitioning to whole cow milk at 12 months, but for children with cow milk sensitivity* , this isn’t an option. Here are the reasons KABRITA Goat Milk Toddler Formula is a great solution.

Goat milk protein is naturally easy to digest

Goat milk protein forms a smaller, softer and looser curd in the stomach compared to cow milk protein. And, it is degraded faster than cow milk protein.

For children under the age of two, however, whole goat milk may not be ideal, as it is low in folic acid, Vitamin D and iron – all important for toddler growth and development. By using goat milk protein as a base for formula, we harness the naturally easy to digest benefits of goat milk in an adapted formula with all the nutrients toddlers need.

KABRITA Goat Milk Toddler Formula is nutritionally enriched

Children under the age of two require nutrient-dense foods. For that reason, cow milk alternatives such as rice, nut and soy milk, do not provide the nutrition they need. According to the Institute of Medicine, toddlers aged 1-3 require at least 13g of protein daily, and KABRITA Goat Milk Formula contains 5g of protein per cup, while nut milk contains 1g of protein or less per cup.

Nut milks also lack vitamin K, B Vitamins , folic acid, phosphorous, zinc, manganese, copper and selenium. KABRITA Goat Milk Formula is nutritionally enriched with 22 added vitamins and minerals. It’s important for all parents to ensure children eat a wide variety food to ensure optimal nutrition, regardless of what milk option they choose.

KABRITA Goat Milk Toddler Formula is adapted

Whey and casein are proteins found in milk. Like cow milk, goat milk contains less whey than casein proteins, in a ratio of 20:80. Breast milk has a whey to casein ratio of 60:40. Goat whey protein concentrate is added to KABRITA Goat Milk Formula to adapt the ratio of whey to casein, in order to more closely match that found in breast milk.

KABRITA Goat Milk Toddler Formula contains important fat

KABRITA Goat Milk Toddler Formula contains a premium OPO fat blend with beta palmitate, designed to mimic the fats found in breast milk. Fat blends with beta palmitate have been associated with increased calcium and fatty acid absorption, as well as improved stool consistency. It is also enriched with DHA and ARA, essential fatty acids that support vision and the nervous system.

For children with cow milk sensitivity*, finding an alternative may help ease symptoms and make life happier for the whole family. KABRITA Goat Milk Toddler Formula is an excellent, nutritionally enriched cow milk alternative for ages 12-24 months.
